Worship Watch
Worship Watch
The purpose of Worship Watch is to create and maintain a safe environment in and around church property. Worship Watch is patterned after “Neighborhood Watch” and the program depends upon members of the parish to provide the manpower needed to perform the watch. Members of the watch team are asked to do a security check of the parish grounds after 9:00 p.m. on their scheduled night. Normally this consists of a ride through the parking lot and to check that all doors to the parish buildings are properly locked. If any facilities are not properly locked or there is anything of concern, the watch member is asked to call the church custodian or the PWC Police. For safety reasons, parishioners are asked to not ever be involved in a confrontational situation.
SEAS currently has two watch teams. Each team is responsible for a month with the rotation repeating every other month. Each team has a “Watch Captain” who develops a monthly schedule for the team. Team members are typically assigned one or more watch days per month; some members are assigned extra days as the roster is not quite full.
Worship Watch needs volunteers to assist in this very vital effort to ensure the safety and security of our parish. Recent losses in membership have increased the number of times that members must perform the watch during the month. Please assist in this effort.
